Content Rights & Licensing

Last Updated: April 2026

Talkline.fm is a creator-led live audio commentary platform. This page explains what the platform plays, what it does not play, what we require of creators, and how to report a copyright concern.

What Talkline Plays

  • Live creator commentary. Original spoken-word audio produced by creators via their own microphone through WebRTC on our web platform. Creators agree to our Terms of Service warranting they hold all necessary rights to the content they broadcast.
  • Talkline Radio (the talkline-dj account). An automated filler channel active when no creator is live, playing only Talkline-owned royalty-free audio. No user uploads, no third-party licensed music.

What Talkline Does Not Play

  • Professional sports broadcasts (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, soccer leagues, etc.).
  • TV, radio, or podcast rebroadcasts.
  • Third-party licensed music.

Mobile is Listen-Only

Broadcasting is web-only. The mobile app plays streams produced on the web platform; it does not allow users to broadcast.

Creator Obligations

Creators agree to Terms §4: they warrant they hold all necessary rights to the content they broadcast and are expressly prohibited from re-streaming league-owned feeds, match audio, or licensed music. Violations can result in immediate stream termination and account suspension.

DMCA / Copyright Takedowns

We operate a DMCA-style takedown process — see Terms §10. To report a copyright concern, email [email protected] with the URL of the stream or clip in question, your contact details, and a statement of your rights.
